Radish Greens and Cabbage Salad with Basic Indian Meal

Radish leaves are rich in vitamins and minerals that are essential for many bodily functions – iron, phosphorus, folic acid, calcium and vitamin C; the high iron and phosphorus content of radish leaves increases immunity and reduces fatigue, it contains fibre that helps in digestive process, radish greens decreases high blood sugar levels to prevent diabetes, radish leaves contain a host of essential nutrients that has anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties – these help in detoxifying the body and flushing out toxins. Radish Greens with Cabbage for a salad recipe is an awesome combination for good health, however this combination is palatable for cooked vegetable salad recipe with minimum number of ingredients to flavor the combination because radish leaves has strong flavor which diminishes the flavour of other ingredients.

The Basic Indian Meal is very simple, a combination of lentil soup, pickle, papad along with rice, this salad of radish greens/leaves adds essential nutrients to the combination.

Cooked Vegetable Salad Recipe: Radish Greens & Cabbage

Quantity of Radish Greens: approx. 5 handfuls of sliced radish greens

Quantity of Cabbage: a medium size cabbage

Blend a tsp. of mustard seeds to crackle in adequate quantity of warm, any, mild-flavour vegetable oil; add slices of 4 dry, red chillies to the blend before adding it with sliced pieces of radish greens and cabbage, add a little quantity of water to the mix for it to cook in medium heat; when the vegetable slices turn tender to evaporate the water content, blend the cooked salad with smidgen of salt , 1/4 tsp. of asafoetida powder and 1/4 tsp. of turmeric powder

Serving size: approx. 6
