Prepare Delicious Garbanzo Beans Curry without the use of Garam Masala or Herbs

How do you make nutritious garbanzo beans/chickpeas curry delicious, without the use of garam masala or herbs, or even without using cheese?

Know the recipe …

Delicious Garbanzo Beans Curry without the use of Garam Masala or Herbs:

Quantity of garbanzo beans: approx. 125 gm.

Soak the garbanzo beans overnight in adequate quantity of water before cooking the chickpeas/garbanzo beans for approx. 20 minutes in a pressure cooker, in adequate quantity of water in low to medium heat.

I opted to cook the garbanzo beans curry in an iron wok/kadai.

Add 1/4 tsp. of fenugreek seeds in warm, adequate quantity of sunflower oil (or any other mild-flavour vegetable oil), blend this mix with finely sliced pieces of a big onion, smidgen the mix with salt – according to preference of taste; when the onion pieces turn translucent in colour, add finely sliced pieces of 2 small tomatoes, along with finely sliced pieces of a hyderabadi green chilli for mild-pungent flavour (these chillies are about palm length and slender, they have mild but distinctive pungent flavour) – you can also opt to use any other chilli pepper according to your preference of taste; add medium sliced pieces of 4 medium potatoes, and sliced pieces of a big green capsicum to the melted tomato mixture; blend the mix with 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp. of hing/asafoetida powder, and approx. 1/2 a glass of water for the potato pieces to cook; when the potato pieces turn tender, add the cooked chickpeas to the mixture; blend the mixture with a glassful of buttermilk, and simmer the combination for at least 5 minutes in medium heat.

This delicious garbanzo beans curry has a delicious combine flavour of fenugreek seeds, hyderbadi green chilli, asafoetida powder, potatoes, green capsicum and buttermilk.

Serving size: approx. 5

Hing/Asafoetida Powder: This spice is used as a digestive aid, in food as a condiment, and in pickling. It plays a critical flavoring role in North Indian vegetarian cuisine by acting as an umami enhancer. (Source of Information: Wikipedia)
