Simple yet Lush Beetroot Pulao/Rice
Quantity of kolam or basmati rice: approx. 250 gm
- In adequate quantity of warm sunflower oil or any other mild-flavour vegetable oil, add pieces of an entire medium star anise and mince of a medium beetroot; blend the mix with finely sliced pieces of a green chilli for mild-pungent flavour – optional (these chillies are small and extremely slender, having fresh pungent flavour), smidgen the mix with salt – according to preference of flavour, blend the mix with 2 small cups of kolam rice, add 3 small cups of water to cook the rice, cook the rice by covering the utensil with a lid and until the water evaporates.
This pulao has lush combine flavour of star anise and beetroot.
