
The Recipe:
Quantity: About ½ kg bottle gourd, sliced into reasonable thin circular slices
- Marinate the bottle gourd slices for 10-15 minutes in: 1½ tbsp. of white cooking vinegar – this vinegar has a sweet-tangy flavour, ½ tsp. of turmeric powder and smidgen of salt – according to preference of taste.
- Coat these slices with the mixture of wheat flour & semolina before deep frying the slices in adequate quantity of warm, any mild-flavour vegetable oil (preferably rice bran oil as this oil is less viscous thus it does not stick to food, and rice bran oil is made from bran which makes it rich in vitamin E), for less than 5 minutes in medium heat, until the surface of these slices turn crisp in texture.
These slices have the nice flavour of white cooking vinegar.
